Granny 4 Characters Guide – All Enemies, NPCs & Their Roles
Granny 4: The Rebellion introduces a terrifying cast of characters that expands the Granny universe in ways fans never expected. From the returning Granny and Grandpa to the new nightmare that is Nosferatu, this guide explores every character in the game. But there’s more lurking beneath the surface. Hidden characters, scrapped content, and Easter Eggs that most players will never discover. This comprehensive guide reveals everything.
Granny: The Main Antagonist
Granny is back and she is more terrifying than ever. The elderly matriarch of the house returns in Granny 4: The Rebellion with enhanced AI, new patrol routes, and a backstory that explains why she is so relentless in her pursuit of you.
Physical Description: Granny is an elderly woman with gray hair tied in a bun, wearing a blue floral dress and apron. In Granny 4, she has a noticeable injury—her left eye is clouded and blind. This detail was added to explain her occasional “blind spots” in certain sections of the house. She moves with a slight limp but is deceptively fast when she spots you.
Behavior & AI: Granny patrols the Ground Floor primarily. Her patrol route is semi-randomized, making her movements harder to predict than in previous games. She responds to:
- Sound: Dropping items, stepping on the duck, or running triggers her investigation.
- Sight: If she sees you, she will chase you relentlessly until you hide or escape her line of sight.
- Door Interactions: Opening doors within a 10-meter radius can alert her.
Unique Traits in Granny 4: Granny now has a “Hearing Range” indicator that players can use to gauge her proximity. She also has a new attack animation where she swings a rolling pin. On Day 3 and beyond, she becomes faster and her patrol routes expand to the Upper Floor.
Blind Spot Mechanic
Granny’s left eye blind spot means she cannot see you if you approach from her left side. This is a deliberate game mechanic you can exploit.
Sound Sensitivity
Granny’s hearing range is 12 meters. Moving slowly reduces the sound you make by 40%. Crouching reduces it by 70%.
Difficulty Scaling
Granny becomes 15% faster each day. On Day 5, she is nearly twice as fast as Day 1. Plan your escape early.
Grandpa: The Silent Pursuer
Grandpa returns as a terrifying secondary antagonist. Unlike Granny, he is quieter, faster, and patrols the Upper Floor. His presence adds a new layer of tension, as you never know when he might appear.
Physical Description: Grandpa is an elderly man with white hair, wearing a brown cardigan and beige trousers. He carries a cane that he uses as a weapon. In Granny 4, he has a new model with more detailed facial expressions and a menacing glare.
Behavior & AI: Grandpa patrols the Upper Floor including the Bedrooms, Sewing Room, and Study. Unlike Granny, he does not respond to sound as much. Instead, he relies on sight. His movement speed is faster than Granny’s but he has a narrower field of view.
Unique Traits in Granny 4: Grandpa now has a “Patrol Shift” mechanic where he changes his patrol route every 90 seconds. This makes it harder to predict his location. He also has a new “Cane Slam” attack that deals more damage than Granny’s rolling pin.
Narrow Field of View
Grandpa’s field of view is only 90 degrees compared to Granny’s 120 degrees. This makes it easier to slip past him if you approach from the side.
Patrol Shift
Every 90 seconds, Grandpa changes his patrol route. This is indicated by a subtle audio cue. Listen for the sound of his cane tapping.
Speed Advantage
Grandpa is 20% faster than Granny but has a 10% slower acceleration. This means you can outrun him in short sprints but not in long chases.
Nosferatu: The New Nightmare
Nosferatu is the most significant addition to Granny 4: The Rebellion. This vampire-like entity introduces a completely new type of threat. Understanding Nosferatu is crucial to surviving the game.
Physical Description: Nosferatu is a tall, gaunt humanoid with pale skin, elongated fingers, and glowing red eyes. He wears tattered clothing reminiscent of a Victorian-era noble. His design is inspired by the classic 1922 film “Nosferatu.”
Behavior & AI: Nosferatu has a unique behavior pattern. He teleports around the map instead of walking. His primary locations are the Basement and the Attic. He is attracted to light and will investigate if you use the flashlight or a candle.
Unique Traits:
- Teleportation: Nosferatu can teleport to any location on the map with a 30-second cooldown.
- Light Sensitivity: Shining a flashlight on him stuns him for 5 seconds. He cannot teleport while stunned.
- Sound Disorientation: Nosferatu is confused by loud sounds and will teleport away from them.
Lore Connection: Game files reveal that Nosferatu was summoned by Granny as a guardian for the house. He is bound to the property and cannot leave the grounds.
Teleportation Mechanics
Nosferatu teleports every 30-60 seconds. He cannot teleport into rooms with active lights or into the Garage.
Light Weakness
Flashlights stun Nosferatu for 5 seconds. Candles stun him for 3 seconds. The Crossbow has no effect on him.
Attack Pattern
Nosferatu’s attack is a single bite that deals heavy damage. It takes 3 hits to knock him back.
Hidden Characters & Easter Eggs
Granny 4 is packed with secrets. The game files reveal hidden characters and Easter Eggs that most players miss. These include a creepy Doll, a neutral Chef, and a mysterious Janitor.
The Doll — Creepy Easter Egg
Found in the Sewing Room · Triggers a Jumpscare
Location
The Doll is located in the Sewing Room on the Upper Floor. She is sitting on a chair near the window, facing away from the door.
Interaction
If you approach the Doll and interact with her, she will slowly turn her head toward you. After a 3-second delay, she triggers a loud jumpscare and a scream.
Reward
There is no reward for triggering the Doll. It is purely an Easter Egg. However, the jumpscare attracts Granny to your location, so be careful.
The Chef — Neutral Character
Found in the Kitchen · Does Not Attack
Location
The Chef is found in the Kitchen on the Ground Floor. He is standing behind the counter, cooking.
Behavior
The Chef is neutral. He does not attack you. If you approach him with a specific item (the Pan from the kitchen), he will nod at you and hand you the Car Key.
Reward
If you give him the Pan, he gives you the Car Key. This is a hidden skip for the Car Escape route.
Found in the game files but not in the final game. The Janitor would have patrolled the Basement and had a mop as a weapon. Code references indicate he was cut due to performance issues.
A spectral entity that would appear on random nights. Game files show a translucent model with glowing eyes. Removed because the developers felt it made the game too confusing.
References in the game files suggest a fourth enemy called “The Butcher” was planned. He would have appeared in the Basement and had a unique attack animation. Cut content.

Lore & Backstory
Granny 4: The Rebellion expands the Granny universe with rich lore. Here is what we know about each character’s backstory, pieced together from in-game notes, environmental storytelling, and datamined files.
Granny’s Backstory: Granny was once a kind woman who lost her husband to illness. She began kidnapping people to keep her company, believing she was “saving” them. Her left eye injury came from a victim who fought back. The rebellion in the title refers to the victims who tried to fight back.
Grandpa’s Role: Grandpa is not Granny’s husband. He is a former resident who tried to escape and was permanently trapped. He helps Granny in exchange for being allowed to stay in the house.
Nosferatu’s Origin: Nosferatu was summoned by Granny using an ancient ritual found in a book in the Attic. The ritual required a human sacrifice, which explains the missing person posters found in the Basement.
The Rebellion: The subtitle “The Rebellion” refers to the player character—the first person to actively fight back against Granny’s regime. You are the rebellion.
